Fall Events in Napa

Napa is such a delightful place to live for approximately 7,498 reasons, and one of them is that there are always fun, seasonal activities put on by the community for the community. And there are so many local events to partake in this fall, I thought I’d highlight a few here. Here are some especially lovely things to do in Napa Valley this autumn:

The Fascinating Life of Frog’s Leap’s Honeybees - 10/12, 11am - 1pm

Joy Wesley, resident beekeeper at Frog’s Leap Winery, will walk you through the role bees play in the winery’s ecosystem, while educating you on how to create a regenerative habitat for honey bees. In addition, you’ll pick up a little bee biology and even a lesson on the structure of bee hives. All over a glass of wine!

After bee class, you’re invited to partake in a honey tasting and a wine tasting. Held outdoors on Frog’s Leap overwhelmingly stunning grounds, this event is a little bit education, a little bit wine, a little bit luxury chill time. What would you possibly rather be doing on October 12th? Nothing! Come soak in the beauty and learn about our vital friends, the bees.

di Rosa Day Festival - 10/26, 11am - 4pm

di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art is one of my favorite places in Napa Valley. The 217-acre nature preserve is sprinkled with sculptures, gardens, and picnic spots. The art center houses art focused on contemporary and mid-century Bay Area artists. It’s the dreamiest little paradise - I could spend all day there, any day. Besides being insanely lovely at all times, they put on a killer Halloween event!

There will be a haunted house held in di Rosa’s historical, stone residence, built in 1860 - so expect real and pretend haunting! (Just kidding, maybe.) Enjoy guided tours and walks, live music from 3 different local bands, a costume parade, food and drink - basically everything good and wholesomely spooky!

Social Afternoon Tea at Ackerman Heritage House - 11/16, 11am

Join the tea party at Ackerman Heritage House’s monthly afternoon tea. Curated by Lauren Ackerman, delicious tea and delicate treats are served on “period-correct, antique china” as you take in French jazz on the Ackermans’ 1889 Queen Anne Victorian Estate.

Some things you can expect on the menus are organic teas locally-sourced by Tea & Trumpets in Sonoma, crumpets, homemade fruit butters, tarts, scones, tea cakes, quiches, local cheeses...all things scrumptious and delightful!

Napa Valley Turkey Chase - 11/28, 7am

No local fall event calendar is complete without a Thanksgiving community run/walk. I grew up running the Turkey Trot with my dad and have the fondest memories - plus it always made dinner that night even more delish. This year’s event will start at Napa Valley College and run along the beautiful Napa River Trail.

Ticket proceeds from both the 5K & 10K will go towards local charities. Come hang with friends and work up your appetite for a good cause! There is truly no better energy than those race event vibes.
